At Ampcontrol we take pride in leading the way and setting the standard. Our Power operation manufactures a range of explosion protected and electrical equipment for general underground, longwall and open cut coal mining applications. These products include intrinsically safe LV through to 66kV power applications and incorporate a range of Ampcontrol manufactured components into complete turnkey electrical systems.

We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join the team in Tomago NSW. You will be a central figure in the coordination, control and management of all aspects of major or high risk projects to ensure contract delivery, as well as achieving budgetary and operational targets.

In addition you will demonstrate project management best practice within this key power operation including being the business process owner as well as mentor and supervise our project engineers.

Critical to success in this role will also be your ability to improve cooperation and integration between the client and project management and then from project management to engineering and production streams.

Your success in this key role will be dependant on:

• Holding safety as a core value
• Possessing an Electrical Trades Certificate (minimum)
• Demonstrating an excellent understanding of electrical switchgear and control systems
• Possessing high level project management, communication & negotiation skills
• A comprehensive understanding of commercial contract terms & conditions
• Strong skills in people motivation and leadership skills

This role will provide you the opportunity to deliver across multiple concurrent projects that may run from 9 – 24 months and relate to longwall mining systems, power engineering, HV systems and substations.
